All in a name

Hasha

The name Hasha was picked, because the two characters #a is easy to remember. But RFC952 Says that a Domain name must be a text string up to 24 characters drawn from the alphabet (A-Z), digits (0-9), minus sign (-), and period (.). That means that the # character could not be used within the domain name, so it name "hash" was used instead.

Symbol

The # character usually prefix of a number, and is known as the a "Number Sign".
In Unix shells, # is placed by convention at the end of a command prompt to denote that the user is working as root.

Function

The Hash function remind me of my favourite Operating System, Pick. It was a really fun system, Thanks Dick.

Pronunciation of the letter "a"

The "a" in hasha should sound as in hay, and not as in what you would say to a doctor, when getting you throat checked out. How to pronounce a

Hashy

It also sounds like hashy, which means rough or heavy handed. Which if you know my workmanship is rather apt.

Numbers

"a" in Hexadecimal (hex) is 10 in Decimal, and 10 in Binary is 2.
